Traditional Mexican food,
rooted in Sebastopol.
Barrio began as a stand at the Marin Civic Center farmers market in 2013, known for heirloom corn tortillas, handmade sauces, and dishes that often sold out by mid-morning. That farmers market favorite grew into our first brick-and-mortar restaurant at The Barlow. After exploring other concepts in the same space, we've returned to what we do best: honest, traditional Mexican cooking
Chef Carlos Rosas leads the kitchen at Barrio. An accomplished chef, he has cooked at some of the Bay Area's most respected restaurants, including Jardiniere, Kokkari, Slanted Door, Lark Creek Inn, and Cavallo Point. He brings that experience to a menu rooted in the flavors and techniques of his upbringing, prepared simply and made to share.
We keep things fresh and made from scratch. Our tortillas are made with non-GMO corn masa, and we work with local farmers and ranchers to source quality ingredients close to home. Salsas, beans, and other accompaniments are prepared in house. Nothing complicated, just real Mexican food done with care.
